About West Virginia Phone Directory

West Virginia phone numbers are scattered across dozens of separate places. The state employee directory, 55 county courthouse listings, whatever each city chooses to publish, the school directories, every utility, every hospital, and the numbering references kept by NANPA and the FCC. Tracking down one number usually means bouncing between websites and guessing which layer of government owns it. We built this site so you can land on the right directory, area-code reference, or hotline without working through five other pages first.

Why We Built This Site

West Virginia has no single phone book, and nothing has ever tried to be one. The WV.gov directory covers state employees and nobody else. Counties publish their own courthouse listings, 55 of them, and no two are laid out the same way. Cities range from Charleston, which posts a department-by-department call list, to small towns that give one number and a set of office hours. Schools sit under county systems, universities run their own directories with their own access rules, and every utility and hospital keeps a separate set of lines. Add the area-code and numbering references from NANPA and the FCC and the picture gets crowded fast. We gather the lookup tools, the contact routes, and the reference data for all of it in one place.
